English Literary Club
English Literary Club of FDS is an organ of motivational force to many aspiring students who want to excel in all – round activities of academic session. ELC aims to introduce the young readers of English language to the vast world of English Literature. The inevitability of English can’t be denied in the modern world as it is widely spoken GLOBAL – LANGUAGE, enriched with great lit. Works of innumerable writers, play rights and poets. The purpose of ELC is to create an interest in reading and understanding the aesthetic and moral beauty of Eng. Lit. Among students, further binding and strengthening the threads of various culture, religion and language together.
Thus, to meet there expectations, ELC perform few indoor as well as outdoor activities throughout the year. The club has discovered and groomed many budding talents who won applauds of many as – amazing writers, singers, actors, anchors, orators etc. the club organizes indoor activities like – debates, quizzes, creative writing, crosswords etc. In outdoor activities, club performs in short – skits based on the theme of various events; such as – Rabindra Nath Tagore’s birthday, Independence Day, Teacher’s Day, Annual Function itc. It delivers the powerful speeches in morning assembly of the school on all special events. It also takes the responsibility to provide anchors for every cultural or sports – events and toils undoubtedly hard during Annual Function.
Important Activities Performed By the Club Are –
- Dramalisation of “Christmas Carol,” written by Charles Dickens.
- A skit on Child – Labour
- A skit on Independence Day
- A skit on proving the value of Time following the proverb –“Time and tide waits for Nene”.
- Short play, group song, solo song on Farewell Function of class XII Eng. Members.
Eng. Literary Club of FDS follows these golden words of great American Poet Robert Frost in accomplishing new goals everyday and truly believes.
